A podcast produced by Leicestershire Library Service will give listeners the opportunity to hear the history of crime fiction – at the click of the mouse!
Leicestershire Library service has responded to the great popularity of crime fiction by producing a history of this popular form of literature in the form of a podcast that is accessible via the Library website. The podcast is being added to the library website in four parts, and the first part, including the invention of Sherlock Holmes, will be available from 1st April at http://www.leics.gov.uk/listen. Further parts will be added in May, June and July.
Written and recorded by Development Librarian John Martin, the production is being used to showcase the use of the Learning Transformation Fund, a government initiative to support informal adult learning. Councillor David Sprason, Cabinet Lead Member for Adults and Communities, said “This is a perfect example of how the fund can be used – informal learning is very wide ranging, and learning about something like crime fiction through a podcast is a great example of a 21st century learning style”.
